The holiday season is here! Sooner than you expect, tourists will be flocking Canggu, currently the most hipster area in Bali also digital nomads hub in Southeast Asia. Following the previous article about 10 Restaurants in Canggu, Bali Worth to Visit, here I am gonna give recommendations about where to eat, drink, and spend good time in Canggu, Bali during the holiday season. The 10 Best Restaurants in Canggu, Bali are picked based on my own experience tasting various restaurants, bars, and coffee shops around Canggu, Bali, Indonesia.
- Copenhagen Canggu

Located near Echo Beach, Copenhagen Canggu is a Nordic-inspired all-day brunch cafe. Their concept is pretty interesting. You basically get to put together your own brunch boards to fit your appetites and tastes. As you sit down, you’re handed a menu and can choose the food broken down into six categories: bakery, eggs, fruit & greens, protein, and sweets. It also has a selection of vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free. You could opt to take three items for 65K ($4,5), five items for 95K ($6,6), or the option to add a single item for 25K ($1,75).

Whenever I have breakfast at Copenhagen Canggu, I always choose eggs, protein (salmon), and sweets (waffles). Every food tastes good & fresh and also looks aesthetically pleasing, placed in ceramic tablewares on a wooden board. No wonder Copenhagen Canggu quickly become the breakfast & lunch hotspot in Canggu.
Address : Jl. Canggu Padang Linjong No.71a, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
2. Warung Goethe

Been here for multiple times since 2017 and I always come back to Warung Gouthe for their homemade French breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Warung Gouthe serves homemade French food with brochette (a dish of skewered meat or fish chunks, grilled or roasted) as their main specialty. You can also find some typical French desserts like meringue. I love the casual setting and ambiance of the restaurant in Canggu, Bali. It feels like having meals in the countryside of France or at home backyard.

I often find Warung Gouthe full with guests every time I passed Jalan Pantai Berawa where it is located. To avoid crowds, I suggest you come after lunchtime, around 2-5 PM. That’s also my preferred time to visit Warung Gouthe since I like to go there to work and I need a quiet place to concentrate on my work.

Address : Jl. Pantai Berawa No.7A, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
3. Riviera Bistro

Another restaurant in Canggu, Bali that is almost always full of guests. You absolutely need a reservation to dine in Riviera Bistro on the weekends. When I first went to the restaurant in Canggu, Bali, I didn’t have a reservation thus I had to sit in the bar area before they found a table for me.
The Italian-owned restaurant offers modern takes on Mediterranean classics, along with a comprehensive drinks list that spans wines from around the world, signature cocktails, and top-shelf spirits.
Address : Jl. Pemelisan Agung, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
4. L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina

The newly opened Italian restaurant in Berawa claims to offer authentic Italian dishes. Since Italian food is on my list of top 3 best food in the world, I felt that I have to try this nicely decorated restaurant once it opened in October this year. As usual, my first choice in every Italian restaurant is Carbonara pasta. I find the carbonara in L’osteria Berawa isn’t very special but nod bad either. Meanwhile, their pizza is also just okay.

While I ain’t that impressed by the food in Italian restaurant Canggu, I am pretty fond of its interior decoration that is aesthetically pleasing, much like Kebun Bistro in Ubud. Besides the restaurant in Canggu, Bali, you can also find their first outlet in Ubud.
Address : Jl. Pemelisan Agung No.2, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
5. Ithaka Warung

I’ve fallen in love with Gado-Gado and fried tempeh in Ithaka since it was still a small warung on the side road of Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu. The veggies tasted fresh and the tempeh was crunchy. There’s no doubt why both Ithaka outlets in Canggu and Ubud were always full of visitors. Hence I felt a bit confused why they had to move the restaurant in Canggu, Bali to another location, although still on the same street.
The newest outlet in Canggu occupies the 2nd floor of a building near Batu Bolong beach. From here, you can catch the sunsets also enjoy a chill ricefields view. Although Ithaka isn’t as packed as when occupied the old location, it’s still worth trying for the quality of food they offer. Ithaka offers both healthy Indonesian and western food, included with vegan and vegetarian options.
Address : Jalan Pantai Batubolong 168, floor 2, Canggu, Bali.
6. Coffee n Oven

It’s being my frequent place to have coffee and breakfast. I first came to the restaurant in Canggu, Bali just because I was curious why many people go there, also I’ve heard once or twice that the bread in Coffee n Oven is good for Bali standard.
Coffee n Oven offers western breakfast and lunch menu with vegan and vegetarian options, also homemade fresh bakery & pastry. Check their special offer every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (egg benedicts and coffee/ tea for 65K). Their place is also pretty comfy for working although there’s no AC, only fan. So, the best is to go there when the weather isn’t too hot. The service is also pretty nice, I don’t have anything to complain hehe…
Address : Jalan Raya Pantai Berawa No. 51, Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung, Bali 64217, Indonesia
7. The Shady Pig

A hidden bar in the Berawa area that would make you feel like being transported to the glamour, decadence, and also, roughness of Birmingham in the 1920s. To enter the bar, you would have to tell the password that you can gain access only by contacting them via their Instagram page.

I have a good time whenever I visit The Shady Pig. The bar might be small but it feels intimate and cozy. Definitely worth visiting more than once.
Address : Taman tamora, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80111, Indonesia
8. Mirai Sushi

Mirai Sushi is a bit farther than most cool places in Canggu, but trust me, the quality of its food is worth the trip. It’s a small & humble warung in Mengwi, which can be reached for 15 minutes from Canggu by scooter. One menu that you certainly have to try is Chirashi sushi. It’s not only looking good but also tastes very nice & healthy.
Address : Munggu, Mengwi, Badung Regency, Bali 80351
9. Mason.

The one place that has never been seen empty in Canggu. Mason is a restaurant in Canggu, Bali serves top-quality meats, cheeses, dips, and veggies. But honestly, I have mixed feelings toward Mason. Let’s start with the positive side first. I like that the restaurant is pretty spacious and it has a semi-outdoor seating area. The atmosphere is lively and cool. The fact that it’s always packed with guests is another sign that the food is favorable, and yeah the food is good. I’ve tried their beef skewer, asparagus, and french fries.
But, what about the service? Hmm, I must say it’s pretty disappointing. I usually return to restaurants because of the food and/ service, but Mason service is far from an international restaurant service standard. One of the staff was ignoring me when I waved my hand, yeah maybe he was busy with another guest but at least he could smile instead of pretending not to see. When I complained to another server, he said that that dude is the manager and he could take or not take orders from the guests. I expect the manager should know how to treat the customers way better.
Address : Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.39a, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
10. O LALA

A cozy French restaurant serves traditional French cuisine with a little bit of Asian influence. The restaurant’s atmosphere is modern with rustic features to mimic traditional French country interiors. It seats 60 customers, including at the bar; a combination of open windows and AC keeps the venue cool.

I’ve tried the steak and Tuna Tartare and it’s pretty good. They didn’t have some cheese as written on the menu so we had to change to another food. But so far, I love O la la. It’s great for having conversation while enjoying meals on the evening.
Address : Gg. Carik Jl. Umalas II No.1, Kerobokan, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
Is the list above enough to sum up the list of the best restaurant in Canggu, Bali? Hmm no. There are more cool places worth to visit around Canggu, and since I am dedicating my time to explore and discover restaurant in Canggu, Bali, I’ll come back with the 3rd chapter.
