How to Get to Jimbaran, Bali?

We drove for 1 hour and 11 minutes from Canggu to Jimbaran, Bali when the traffic was normal. But since currently we’re in Bali’s high season, traffic can be often congested. The next time we travel to Jimbaran, Bali, we chose to use an online taxi. Jimbaran is actually located quite close to Kuta, only 23 minutes away and 40 minutes away from Seminyak, but with the uncertain traffic situation, best if you allocate 1 hour to go to Jimbaran from Kuta or Seminyak or vice versa.

If you wanna explore another area in Bali while staying at Jimbaran, I suggest you combine it with a trip to Uluwatu or Nusa Dua since those areas are pretty close to Jimbaran, Bali. Uluwatu is 15 mins – 40 minutes south, meanwhile, Nusa Dua is 35 minutes away.

2. Enjoy Sunset and Seafood at Jimbaran Bay

Jimbaran, Bali

Jimbaran, Bali is renowned for its exquisite seafood dining experience. Nestled along the coastline, the area is dotted with numerous beachfront restaurants that offer an abundance of delectable seafood delicacies. Here you can indulge in a true gastronomic adventure as you feast on freshly caught fish, succulent prawns, tender calamari, and an array of other marine delights. The Jimbaran seafood is prepared using traditional Balinese cooking techniques and infused with aromatic spices, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that tantalize the taste buds. With the gentle sea breeze, stunning sunset views, and the sound of crashing waves, enjoying a seafood feast in Jimbaran becomes an enchanting experience that captures the essence of Bali’s coastal charm.

One of the most iconic seafood dining spots in Jimbaran is the famous Jimbaran Bay Beach. Here, you can relish in a truly idyllic setting as you dine on the sandy beach, under the twinkling stars. The grilled seafood, often referred to as “Jimbaran-style,” takes center stage, with generous portions of prawns, fish, and shellfish cooked to perfection over open charcoal flames. Accompanied by a selection of sambal (spicy Indonesian condiment), steamed rice, and traditional side dishes, the seafood in Jimbaran Bay Beach showcases the island’s culinary expertise. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two or a lively gathering with friends and family, Jimbaran’s seafood scene promises an unforgettable dining experience.

Not too far from Jimbaran Bay Beach, there is a Jimbaran seafood restaurant I recommend you try. Bali Cafe 21 offers a diverse selection of fresh and delicious seafood. I’ve tried their fish, mussels, prawns, and vegetables for a weekend and I can’t forget how tasty it was We sat in their indoor area since that day was raining but the cafe also has outdoor seating by the beach, perfect for a romantic dinner or warm gathering with family.

3. Go To Seafood Market

The Jimbaran Fish Market is dubbed one of the best fish markets in Bali. If you come in the early morning you can watch the fishermen return with their catch and buy it directly from them. At The Jimbaran Fish Market, you can see fresh seafood lined up waiting to be purchased. You can bargain the price with the seller, then ask them to grill it for you. Although the market is not the cleanest and most organized, it is still an interesting and unique experience to eat freshly cooked seafood along with rice and sambal in the market.

4. Relax and/ Surf in Bukit Peninsular Beaches

The southern part of Bali has the most stunning beaches all over Bali. Staying in Jimbaran, Bali allows easier access to reach those beaches. If you fancy surfing, staying in Jimbaran, Bali is perfect since it doesn’t take long to reach it. It takes 30 minutes to go to Balangan Beach by car, home to one of Bali’s namesake pro surf breaks; 45 min to Bingin Beach, one of Bali’s preferred surf spots, where you can enjoy a calm and relaxing setting of a limestone cliff-fringed beach; and to Dreamland beach, where surfers can enjoy some of the best reef breaks on the island.

If you’re more into discovering hidden beaches, walking along the beach, and soaking in the crystal clear water, 8 minutes away from Jimbaran, Bali is Tegal Wangi Beach. The beach is named after the temple perched on top of a limestone cliff that overlooks the coast and offers breathtaking seascapes with natural features – low tides and crimson sunsets. The breathtaking panoramic views offered by this beach have been attracting a lot of soon-to-be-married couples to take their pre-wedding photoshoots here.

Tegal Wangi beach is perfect for relaxing but if you want to swim around the waters, I don’t recommend it due to the rocky beds and strong undercurrents, but the low tide does reveal small pools that are enjoyable to have a soak in.

5. Chilling in Beach Clubs

Jimbaran, Bali

There’s time to chill in Hotel Jimbaran Bali, there are also moments when you can sip cocktails, chill in the glittering infinity pools, and dance. Yup, I am talking about beach clubs around Jimbaran, Bali. There are plenty of choices if you want to chill at beach clubs.

If you’d like to see incredible sunset from the cliffs, head to Rock Bar. Personally, I like Tropical Temptation (TT) Beach Club since the atmosphere is not only chill, they play good music, have good food, and are family-friendly. Nestled on the foreshore of Melasti Beach, one of the most well-known beaches in Bali is the beach club that was built using an immersive bamboo structure. We chose to relax on one of their day beds overlooking the Melasti beach, providing uninterrupted views of Melasti’s spectacular beach.

The selection and quality of food & drinks at TT beach club made our Sunday perfect. We had a Smoked Rosemary Hibiscus cocktail & South Paradise mocktail. I love their Green Lantern, a pan-seared Tasmanian salmon served with corn chips & creamy basil pesto. It tastes savory and tender. For dessert, we had Triple Chocolate Mousse which tastes not overly sweet.

Jimbaran, Bali

When you’re wandering around Ungasan, not far from Jimbaran Bali you will see the tip of a majestic statue from afar. That’s Garuda Wisnu Kencana or often referred to as GWK by the locals. GWK Cultural Park is a tourist destination and attraction located at Ungasan, Bali devoted to a Hindu god, Vishnu, and his mount, a mythical bird called Garuda. The massive sculpture of the Hindu god Vishnu riding on a Garuda bird is 75 meters tall and was designed by a Balinese artist Nyoman Nuarta.
