Things to Do in Canggu with Kids: 9 Best Playground Around Canggu, Bali.

Playground Canggu

Been living in Canggu, Bali, for some time, and now you need to find new ideas to keep the kids entertained? Or, are you gonna be heading to Bali with kids for a holiday soon? No worries, Bali is an action-packed tropical playground for kids and parents alike. The Island of the Gods has diverse fun activities and adventures for families of all ages and interests…

Now that my daughter turns 2 year old, she has becomes more active and love to play around. Sometimes I wanna take her to the playground around Canggu, Bali so she can run, play, and get social with other kids. Amidst my busy schedule, I managed to visit some playgrounds in Bali and also some restaurants that have a playground in it to keep the kids entertained while the parents savor their cuisine. Here are 9 playgrounds in Canggu, Bali that I recommend you visit with your little ones:

  1. Parklife
Playground Canggu

Parklife is the Bali playground we visit the most since the place has a restaurant in it and is not too far from our home. Parklife is a vibrant community park and family hub where families can gather, share meals, play, and have fun together. It consists of an indoor playground, a beautiful green park that features a playground, and a family-friendly restaurant. Since its launch in July 2019, Parklife has offered a unique blend of indoor and outdoor play areas, morning drop-in classes for kids under 3, afternoon activities for older children, a kids club, birthday parties, and exciting weekend events such as Halloween parties.

We first came to Parklife when Aimee was still a few months old. She can’t sit nor walk, let alone run yet at the time but we enjoyed their food and park. I like that it has both indoor and outdoor play areas so we can opt to play inside when the weather gets too hot or is raining.

My daughter is very friendly and loves to get social, so I plan to take her to Parklife to join their morning class.

2. Smiley Playhouse

Playground Canggu

If you’re looking for a comfy indoor playground in Canggu where your kids can play while you enjoy some good food, Smiley Playhouse is such a great find!

Located on the second floor of Ding Ding Hot Pot Bali, this cozy play space keeps little ones busy and happy — no worries about Bali’s unpredictable rain or blazing sun. Meanwhile, you can sit back downstairs and enjoy some comforting Chinese dishes in peace (hello, hot pot time!).

Playground Canggu

What I love most about Smiley Playhouse is how much there is for kids to do. The space is clean, colorful, and filled with fun activities — from climbing and exploring to pretend play. My daughter’s absolute favorite part is riding the little Vespa around the mini track and playing make-believe with other kids.

Each child needs to be accompanied by an adult (parent or nanny), and everyone must wear socks inside.

Entrance fee: Rp143,000 per child (includes one adult).
Tip: If you spend at least Rp500,000 at Ding Ding Hot Pot downstairs, you’ll get one free playground ticket — a nice little bonus for lunch or dinner out with the family.

3. Joon Canggu

Playground Canggu

Located in Jl. Babakan Canggu, Joon Canggu is a restaurant/ cafe with a quite spacious garden and children’s playground overlooking the stunning rice terraces, although the latter view is slowly disappearing due to massive villa construction. My daughter loves to play around the garden and with other expat kids here.

Joon offers tasty Indonesian and Western food at reasonable prices, including a kids’ menu. The playground in Canggu is also equipped with a pool and some gigantic floatings. Next time we will take her there again to swim!

4. Brie’s Unicorn Cafe

Playground Canggu

A few years ago, when I lived in Hanoi, Vietnam, I visited a charming Unicorn-themed café that left a lasting impression. Imagine my delight when I discovered that Bali also has its very own Unicorn-themed café! Naturally, I had to take my daughter there, and it turned out to be an enchanting experience for both of us.

Nestled in Canggu, Brie’s Unicorn Café is a vibrant wonderland brimming with playful décor and shimmering hues. The café’s backyard features a delightful playground that kept my little one entertained for hours. Beyond the playground, the café is a treasure trove of activities for kids. There’s a cozy book corner, an art station to unleash their creativity, and the ultimate highlight – renting a unicorn costume to truly embody the magic of this whimsical world.

Playground Canggu

The menu is equally enchanting, offering a variety of Unicorn-themed treats that are as delicious as they are adorable. We tried the Unicorn cupcake, a slice of Unicorn rainbow cake, a magical marshmallow, and a Unicorn cookie – each one a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

Adding to the charm is the second floor, where kids can meet and interact with adorable pocket pets like hedgehogs and sugar gliders. It was a delightful surprise that made our visit even more memorable.

Playground Canggu

Brie’s Unicorn Café is not just a café or playground; it’s also a popular venue for birthday parties. Do note, the café occasionally closes for private events, so it’s best to check their Instagram or contact them beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Whether you’re seeking a playful day out with your kids or looking for a unique spot for a celebration, Brie’s Unicorn Café is an experience brimming with magic and joy.

5. Milk & Madu

Playground Canggu

Milk & Madu has earned its reputation as a must-visit restaurant in Bali, offering a family-friendly atmosphere with fantastic amenities for those with kids. Each location boasts a playground, complete with an art corner where little ones can unleash their creativity by drawing or coloring. Sitting near the playground is our favorite spot, as we can relax while watching Aimee play with other children or enjoy her artistic moments.

Our go-to spot is Milk & Madu Beach Road on Jl. Batu Bolong, Canggu, but their other locations in Berawa, Uluwatu, and Ubud also cater wonderfully to families. Milk & Madu is the perfect venue for hanging out with friends or family, combining a laid-back vibe with friendly, efficient service and a carefully curated music playlist that sets the mood.

The menu is a delightful mix of contemporary dishes, offering generous portions at great value, beautifully presented to please both the eyes and the palate. Whether you’re planning a casual outing or a fun family day, Milk & Madu checks all the boxes.

6. Dolan Restaurant & Park

Playground Canggu

I’ve been searching for a quite large outdoor playground for my daughter. It’s not easy to find it since most of the playgrounds around Canggu are rather limited in space, hence when I found Dolan Restaurant & Park I was thrilled. Nestled just a stone’s throw away from the picturesque Batu Bolong Beach, Dolan is the latest addition to Canggu’s vibrant dining scene on the same road as The Lawn and Times Beach Club. It’s an outdoor restaurant equipped with a bar and grill with the largest park area in Canggu, where everyone can enjoy a fun barbeque under the stars while hanging out with friends and family.

As its name suggests, Dolan, which means playing in the Javanese language (the most spoken local language in Indonesia), hopes to be the perfect destination for family and friends to hang out. At the same time, the children can run freely in nature and play with friends on the playground.

Not only having an impressive outdoor playground, but Dolan also offers a culinary journey that spans from Mediterranean cuisine, including steak and seafood grills, artisan pizzas, and vegan options. Each dish is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, ensuring every bite is a burst of flavor. Meanwhile, kids will be happy with their dedicated kids’ menu. My favorite is their tender salmon steak and dolce cake for dessert! It’s the bomb!!

Next time we will come to Dolan to have a picnic with some friends. It would be great!!

7. Mai Main Playground Canggu

Playground Canggu

Opened in September 2024, Mai Main is a kid’s playground located in Canggu. More than just a playground, Mai Main is a place for kids to express themselves and stay active. It offers a variety of activities, including an indoor and outdoor Playground, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool oasis, a swimming class, a ballet class, a baby spa, pet feeding, and many more.

It’s the perfect one-stop destination for families, with restaurants and even barbershops. Mai Main is the place you should choose for a kids’ day out.

Playground Canggu

One thing to note before entering the play area — wearing socks is mandatory for both parents and kids. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t mention this when we arrived, and we forgot to bring ours (only our daughter had hers on). During our visit, the staff kept reminding us about it, which became a bit annoying after a while. Considering that the ticket price is slightly higher than other playgrounds in Canggu, we expected a friendlier and more accommodating approach.

9. Babaloons Playground

Playground Canggu

The recently opened Babaloons playground in Canggu might be a bit tucked away, but it has everything to keep kids happy and active! Located on the second floor of Pasar Desa Canggu (which literally means Canggu Market), this indoor playground offers a spacious area filled with fun activities that encourage kids to run, jump, and spark their imagination.

Playground Canggu

Honestly, the first time I visited, I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it is compared to other playgrounds in Canggu. No wonder it’s quickly becoming a favorite among Bali residents!

Beyond just being a playground, Babaloons also provides event packages for kids’ birthday parties and has a comfortable waiting area for parents or guardians to relax while the little ones play.
